Current Affairs:-Work Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday said in Lok Sabha that the Wages Code Bill will empower presentation of the lowest pay permitted by law for each specialist other than tending to issues concerning delay in installment to representatives.
The Code on Wages Bill, 2019, which tries to correct and solidify the laws identifying with wages and reward and matters associated therewith, will profit 50 crore laborers, the Minister said while moving the Bill for thought and section in the Lok Sabha.
The Bill subsumes four work laws – Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Payment of Bonus Act and Equal Remuneration Act. After authorization of the Code, all these four Acts would be revoked.
He said that while drafting the bill, the administration has acknowledged 17 out of the 24 suggestions made by the Standing Committee which had investigated a comparative bill presented in the past Lok Sabha.
According to the bill, the tripartite board of trustees including delegates of worker’s guilds, managers and state governments would fix a story wage for laborers all through the nation, Gangwar stated, including “the lowest pay permitted by law will turn out to be right of each specialist.”
Notwithstanding different things, the Bill will adequately deliver the issues identifying with postponement in installments of wages whether on month to month, week by week or consistent schedule, the Minister said.
The Code universalises the arrangements of least wages and opportune installment of wages to all workers regardless of the segment and pay roof.
