Citizenship Act: SC refuses to grant stay, gives Centre four weeks to reply The court said it will not grant any stay on CAA without hearing the Centre on the matter Current Affairs :The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave the Center a month to react to supplications testing the legitimacy of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and said it will set up a five-judge Constitution seat to hear the petitions. While clarifying that it won’t concede any stay on the CAA without hearing the Center, a seat headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde controlled every single high court from hearing supplications on CAA till it chooses the petitions.
